Applied Research, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship Support Incubator (ARIES)
Join ACE²-EU, a leading European University Alliance committed to advancing research, innovation, and entrepreneurship across Europe. We are
currently looking for an experienced and visionary Work Package Leader to join the local European University Team at Carinthia University of Ap-
plied Sciences in Austria and spearhead the design, implementation, and operation of Applied Research, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship Sup-
port Incubator (ARIES). This key initiative will develop and drive collaborative research and innovation activities with external stakeholders and de-
liver cutting-edge entrepreneurship education across European partner institutions. The incubator will focus on fostering impactful partnerships
through three research clusters in the areas of digital and green transitions and health & well-being while also promoting entrepreneurship educa-
tion and support via its Entrepreneurship Academy.
Your Tasks
•

Lead the creation and strategic direction of the ARIES Incubator, imbedded in the ACE²-EU Team
Develop and coordinate programs that foster research, innovation, and entrepreneurship collaboration between aca-
demia and external stakeholders, including industry, government, and civil society
Oversee the incubator’s three research clusters and ensure the successful development of joint research and innovation
initiatives in the fields of digital and green transition and health & well-being
Oversee the incubator’s delivery of entrepreneurship programs and activities through the Entrepreneurship Academy,
providing mentoring and training for students, researchers, and aspiring entrepreneurs
Identify opportunities for funding, industry collaboration, and commercialization within the thematic focus areas of the
incubator
Design and deliver workshops, seminars, networking events, and an entrepreneurship traineeship program focused on
fostering entrepreneurial skills and innovation mindset across the alliance
Manage the operational and administrative aspects of the ARIES Incubator work package, including planning, moni-
toring, and reporting on activities, and timelines

Regularly report on the progress of the incubator to the local project manager, the alliance’s General Manager, and
other governance bodies
Your Profile
•
•
PhD in a relevant field in one of the priority areas of the incubator and a minimum 2-3 years of postdoc experience
Work experience in complex multi-partner initiatives and international projects – already acquired leadership and team
management experience are a plus.

In-depth understanding of research and innovation ecosystems
Strong communication and networking skills, with a talent for fostering partnerships across academia industry and
different cultures

International experience
Availability to travel to alliance partners and other important national and international networking conferences
Fluent in English and at least one additional European language (in addition to one’s mother tongue); every other lan-
guage is a plus
