Your Tasks
The vacant position of an endowed professorship in "Smart Sustainable Timber Construction" is funded for the period
of 5 years. It entails establishing a timber research center that acts as a competence center for intelligent and sustainable
timber construction in Austria and beyond and conducts high-quality research in the applied field. Your responsibilities
will include:

Developing and establishing a timber research center in the field of smart and sustainable timber construction
with the following focus areas:

Structural timber construction and wood joining technology
Sensor technology
Sustainability strategies in timber construction

Managing the research center and developing scientific staff
Initiating as well as implementing research projects and collaborating with ongoing research activities
Developing and teaching courses in English
Taking on organizational and administrative activities (part of academic self-administration)
Participating in the profiling and further development of the degree programs/further education programs
Representing the university in regional and international partnerships and in cooperation with public administra-
tion, business, and the scientific community
Your Profile

Relevant university degree in the field of civil engineering
PhD in a relevant subject area
Proof of publications and conference contributions
Teaching experience and didactic competence at university level, also in a digital environment (online teaching)
Experience in initiating, managing, and implementing externally funded projects
Several years of relevant professional experience and a strong affinity for research and knowledge transfer
Strong self-management skills as well as a high level of commitment, ability to work in a team, and willingness
to collaborate across disciplines
